There are always so many Sonoma Valley events to choose from, some might find it difficult to select which ones to attend. Two of my all-time favorites are coming up: The Sonoma Wine Country Weekend and the Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Tomato Festival. If either or both of these two September Sonoma Valley events sound intriguing, buy your tickets now! Both are fantastic and I love seeing all my friends, but they do sell out fast. Here are the details:
- The Sonoma Wine Country Weekend
For three delicious, decadent days, September 2-4, 2016, get up close and personal with Sonoma County’s full bounty of flavors. Sonoma Wine Country Weekend is Sonoma County’s signature, and largest, charity event, bringing together over 200 of Sonoma’s top winemakers and growers, along with a collection of the area’s best chefs. Jointly produced by the Sonoma County Vintners and the Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Foundation, all proceeds benefit local Sonoma charities. Since its inception, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend has raised over $20 million for charities that benefit students, children, farm workers and people in need in Sonoma County communities.
- Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Tomato Festival
Saturday, September 24, 2016 will be another unforgettable event as the Annual Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Tomato Festival celebrates its 20th year. To commemorate this special anniversary, Kendall-Jackson has joined forces with Williams-Sonoma to curate a weekend of tomato-inspired festivities, with proceeds benefitting charities that fight hunger in our community: The Redwood Empire Food Bank and No Kid Hungry. The festival reveals the delicious flavors of more than 150 heritage varieties of tomatoes grown in Kendall-Jackson’s expanded estate culinary gardens. Enjoy a perfect fall day with exceptional wine and food pairings, dynamic wine and garden seminars, live music by Beaufunk, featuring former lead singer of Tower of Power, Michael Jeffries, and the ever popular Chef Challenge, featuring some of our favorite celebrity chefs from wine country and beyond.
